ONE month old!

How on earth did a month pass already??

This picture is just PERFECT! She wasn't being held, which in her world is the WORST thing ever! ; ) So she wasn't too happy, I took the picture anyway.

My plan is to take one each month and then frame/collage them all at a year. At least I know if I don't do any sewing at all...I'll definitely get some time when I make the number onesie! ; ) My sewing machine has been incredibly lonely lately. ; )

I have time when I could sew...like when Laiken is sleeping but seriously...sewing or holding a sweet sleeping baby...NO contest!



And baby makes FIVE!!!

Laiken Breann

7lbs 4oz, 20" long

Laiken was such an EASY birth! I was scheduled for induction at 5am, ((we found out when we got there I really didn't need to be there until 7am...thanks Doc!)) we arrived right on time. I had Preston, my sister and my stepmom with me. Lucky dad and brother-in-law got to keep tabs on the other 4 grandkids!

Based on my last delivery, which was an induction as well, we thought for sure Laiken would arrive within a few hours. She however had other plans. I was started on pitocin, which seemed slow going. I believe it was around 9am that I had my water broke. Sometime after that I went ahead and asked for the epidural...I didn't want to lose my chance and miss out on getting it. The contractions were getting more intense but they weren't unbearable. The nurse kept commenting on how quiet and mellow I was through it all. She said I didn't show my pain at all. = )

 Then we waited...and waited...and waited!

FINALLY it was time...FOUR pushes and there she was! She kept us waiting but when the time came she put up no fight. Such an easy birth and absolutely a blessing!

KINDERGARTEN!

It's hard believe our first baby is in KINDERGARTEN now!

She was SO ready for her big day. All decked out with Littlest Petshop ((Hello Kitty almost had a chance and then she had a last minute change of mine)) and off she went!

BIG smiles from little brother.

I just know he was thinking "Let's get her to school so I can ransack her room!!" LOL!

No doubt at all this beautiful little girl is gonna go far! ; )

Gunnery Sergeant Promotion

Preston was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant July 2nd.

 ((offcial July 1st but they held the ceremony on the 2nd))

I am so incredibly proud of this man and all that he's accomplished.

He is such a hard worker, incredible father, loving husband and one hell of a Marine.

He makes my heart go pitter-patter! ; )

Here are a few of the 3D ultrasound pictures of baby Laiken, at 28 weeks.

In this picture she REALLY looks like lil Preston...

Yet in this one she looks JUST like Cadence's newborn hospital picture!

She certainly is SNUG in there! ; )

WELCOME to the new blog!

I've decided to create a blog for our family, you'll find photos and stories fun times, friends, laughter and play and who knows...maybe even a few posts of my sewing! ; ) It's fun to snap photos and tell the stories behind them and I feel as though it helps us to remain close to family when we live so far away.

I have my PHOTOGRAPHY blog but I like the idea of keeping that separate. ; )
